Elevator
After a few times of picking Anya up and then picking Ryan up and then Anya and then Ryan so on and so on Ryan says to me, "Mommy, your just like an elevator!" Hmmmm. I think this elevator is now out of order.

Pause please
You know you are in the age of Tivo when your children don't know what a commercial is and only know to pause a show for a trip to the bathroom or snack. This evening Axel was reading Ryan a bedtime story and Ryan asked him to pause please so he could go pee-pee. Funny thing to have a pause button on a person reading a book!

Updated info on the kids
I'm not sure what happened but withing the last month Anya's language has exploded. She is now about to repeat any simple word you say to her. I should mention that these are English words as German words are quite long and I would probably fall over in astonishment if she repeated Axel.
Anya loves to imitate everything Ryan does! She really looks up to him and is always trying to give him hugs and kisses.
They both seem to fight over everything despite the hugs and kisses. If one has a toy then the other surely needs that toy. This is very trying on my patience level! I guess this is paybacks for all the times my brother and I fought which was constantly!
Ryan is really into counting and can count up to 50 in English and 20 in German. He continues his love of learning how to read and spell new words. His new favorite book is The Lonely Firefly bu Eric Carle. We caught fireflies a couple of evening ago to go along with the bug. He loved sleeping with his little buggy friends!

New Babysitter (Part3)
So, as it turns out Anya did not cry the entire time Sarah was babysitting. : ) I talked to Sarah this afternoon and Anya cried when she realized I was gone (even though I gave her a kiss goodbye) and she cried when she say Axel pull up in the driveway. Whew, there is hope afterall! We'll see what happens when Sarah come back on Monday.

Sooo tired
I hosted playgroup this morning which started at 9:30. That went well all except for it being 90 degrees and feeling like 150 degress. The kids played in the sprinkler and the pool, fought over toys, played in the water table, fought some more over toys, played in the sandbox, and yet again fought over toys. It was our neighborhood playgroup which consisted of 9 boys and 2 girls (Anya and Ally who is 13 months). That many boys playing together can only mean trouble! By the time everyone packed up to go I was exhausted and had to get things ready for an evening dinner party. I was lucky and Anya took an extended nap and slept for 2 and 1/2 hours. The dinner party went great! Funny thing is there were 5 girls and 1 boy (Ryan). No wonder things were so much calmer! Maybe is was just that I drank 3 glasses of wine. I am soooo ready for bed and don't even know why I am on my computer blogging. : )

New Babysitter (Part 2)
I had Sarah come back to babysit both children today for an hour while I went to Pilates class. I knew this may be a challenge as Anya will cry her little heart out with anybody that isn't mommy or daddy. So, this was a trial run to see if possibly it would go great and Axel and I could enjoy a nice quiet dinner at a restaurant. To my greatest sadness it was a no go. Anya simply cried on and off for an hour until Axel came home. Then she ran to him and clung to him for dear life. On a positive note, Ryan still loves having a babysitter.

New babysitter
Ryan had a new babysitter today and couldn't wait for her to get to our house. He waited on the front porch for a good 1/2 hour. When she arrived Ryan started yelling, "HI, SARAH! YOUR HERE? I MISSED YOU!" (keep in mind he has never met her) He proceeded to bring Sarah into the house and show her around. Then he got out his train track while Sarah sat down next to him. He said with a big smile, "I LOVE YOU, SARAH!"

Anya's 15 month well-visit
Anya's well-visit was this past Monday. She weighed 26 pounds 1 ounce and was 32 inches tall. She is in the 90th percentile for both weight and height. Everything went well and she got her MMR shot.
New tricks she is doing...
She is saying Mama, Dada, Doll, Cat, Dog, Go, No-No, ARG! (for pirate), Yum-Yum, Ball, Bye-Bye, Eye, and Duck.
She can point to her nose, ears, mouth, tongue, hair, and eyes when asked in English and German.

Daddy's watch went where?!
I was putting Anya to bed while Ryan was suppose to be drifting off to dreamland in his own bed. He came running into Anya's room yelling "Daddy's watch went in the big hole in the toilet!" I couldn't believe it! He must have decided he had to go pee pee and spotted a nice shiny watch to throw in the toilet. Being quite upset I sent him back to his bed put Anya to bed and called for Axel. Sure enough, after some fishing around down "the big hole in the toilet" Axel's watch was retrieved. On the bright side at least it was a watch and not a wedding ring!
