Halloween!

Kids had a wonderful time trick-or-treating. We started at our neighbor's house for a little party with adult beverages. The we all went trick-or-treating.
Ryan really got into running from door to door and screaming trick-or treat!
When it got a little too dark Ryan said he was ready to go home. That made things easier for Axel and I since we had to get them home to bed since we leave for Captiva in the morning. Happy Halloween!!!

Zoo Boo

Tonight we went to the zoo boo. Ryan was a Pirate again this year. Partly because his costume still fit from last year and partly because he wanted to be a Pirate. Anya was a baby chick but she thought she was a duck (she LOVES ducks). She wore her costume all evening and refused to take it off when we got home. If given her way she would still be in it right now. The zoo boo was fun. It was a little cold but we were just happy it didn't rain. When it got really dark Ryan was "just a little scared" (his words).

Early Morning Run

Anya and Ryan love to go out running with me in the mornings. I love being able to run with them but sometimes they drive me crazy. Like when I am running at a nice steady pace and I see a hat fly out of the stroller and the minute I pick it up and start running again...low and behold a couple mittens fly out then goes a sippy cup. On top of things flying out of the stroller someone always needs their nose wiped and Ryan likes playing 20 questions. While running I have to answer questions like...
Mommy, why is that truck there?
What is that squirrel doing? Why? Where does he live?
Where are all the red leaves?
Why does that tree have a hole?
Why does that house have a green door?
Who lives in that house? Do they go to school?
You get the idea.

Here they are all bundled up...

German letters

Axel was reading a German book to Ryan the other night. Ryan is very much into "reading along" and identifying letters so, he was especially interested in the German letters. Ryan noticed the letter o with two dots above it and asked, "Why does that o have eyes on it?"

Balloons

Great fun! Balloons from Trader Joe's!
I, on the other hand, could not be around these
balloons since I have a phobia of this kind of
balloon. I am so scared it will pop and hurt
someone. Guess that has to do with this happening
to me when I was a kid. A piece went into my ear
and ever since I get a little anxious around latex
balloons. I wonder if the kids would notice
them missing tomorrow if I popped them and
hid the evidence.

Pre-school Update

Ryan is loving school! When I take him in the morning he rushes in to his classroom puts his backpack in his cubby and is off. I have to trail along behind him and ask him for a kiss goodbye. Some days I get a kiss other days he is too busy.
When I pick him up all the children come running into their mothers arms as does Ryan. So sweet! However, after I get that big hug he says, "Mommy, I don't want too go home now. I want to stay at tool (tool is how he pronounces school)".
So, all is well thus far in pre-school. He loves hi teacher, snack time, his friends, and best of all...all the new toys and activities!

Potty!!!!

Anya went pee-pee on the potty tonight and she initiated it! Hurray!!!
