Sharing with little sister
Ryan and Anya were eating their lunch at the kiddie table in the kitchen. I was cleaning up the kitchen and monitoring them at the same time. As most of you who read the blog know, Ryan isn't much of an eater and Anya loves eating. Well, I heard Ryan telling Anya that he didn't like the crust of his sandwich so she could eat it. Then I watched him dump all his unwanted food on to Anya's plate as she happily ate it all up!
But mommy, I didn't do it...
As of late, Ryan refuses to take responsibility for some of his actions. For example, this afternoon while he was painting he got paint on the wall and the floor and the chair. I asked
him why he wasn't being careful and he said, "But I am mommy! The painbrush did it not me!"
Tonight he was putting toothpaste on his toothbrush and somehow got it all over his pajamas
it was the toothbrush not Ryan.
When I was putting a glaze covering over my sand dollars I asked him to PLEASE not touch the sand dollars because they are very fragile and will break easily. What does he do? He pulls a spoon out of the drawer and taps on a sand dollar with the spoon. When I asked him why he didn't listen to me and still touched the sand dollar he said, "I didn't touch them. The spoon did mommy."
When his snack fell off the table because he was jumping around the plate did it not him.
You get the idea...

First snow
The kids played outside in the snow this afternoon. I wish I had the pictures to go with this post but somehow they got deleted. Ugh! Ryan had a wonderful time shoveling snow off the grass while Anya watched him (no doubt wondering why he was shoveling snow off the grass and not the walk way).

Boat ride
Captiva Island
We had an absolutely fabulous time in Captiva!!!! It was actually quite relaxing
and yes we had the kids with us. : ) Anya slept great in her own bedroom. I
thought that would be an issue but I am very happy to say it was not. Ryan
LOVED all the time he spent with Oma and Opa. Ryan would wake up in the
morning and run into Oma's bed. How very sweet! Oma spent lots of time
swimming with Ryan which he really enjoyed.
We were quite lucky to have almost the entire resort to ourselves. Since it was
low season we had the swimming pool to ourselves and the beach. It was so
lovely!
We saw many creatures of Florida. In this first picture we were all looking at
a Manatee that was swimmming around in the marina. We saw dolphins
swimming just 100 feet from the beach.
All in all it was a wonderful time!
