Trip to Germany

Kids did great on the flight to Germany. They slept for about 2
hours on the flight over. Not very long but they managed well
with little sleep. The weather in Germany wasn't very nice.
It was actually quite cold but we were lucky enough to get a
couple warmer days. We went to the Opel Zoo, some playgrounds,
and celebrated UrOpa's 95th birthday. The flight back was
good. I thought the kids would never survive 9 hours. They slept
for about 2 hours and watched movies. We had a nice trip but
it is great to be home. Now we are dealing with time adjustment.

Our week...

I haven't posted this past week due to everyone (except Axel) being sick with a bad cold. I took the children to the pediatrician on Wednesday just to be sure they would be fine to fly to Germany. The doctor said Ryan just needed some time to get over his cold. Anya had the start of an ear infection in her right ear. So, she was given a prescription. Axel took her back to the doctor this morning to have it re-checked. It is still infected but is healing so, we were told it would be fine to fly. Anya got a prescription for some ear drops that will numb the pain while flying.

Ryan is getting very excited to go to Germany. He found a special gift to give Oma. It was the cutest thing. He looked and looked until he saw what he was looking for and waited patiently in line at the check-out counter, when it was his turn he very proudly told the store clerk that this was a "very special gift for Oma!"

On a positive note...Friday was beautiful. I took the kids to the pool for the first time this year. They had a blast! I wish I had pictures to post but I discovered the battery in my camera was empty when I tried to take pictures.

Our Veggie Garden

Ryan loves to tend to our little vegetable garden. We
planted tomatoes, cucumbers, peas, zucchini, carrots,
and watermelon. There wasn't space for anything else.
Can't wait to eat fresh veggies! : )

This week

Axel went to Germany on Tuesday if this week which meant I had to do all the parenting by myself. Thankfully, his trip is short and he comes home tomorrow. The week went great! Things seem to be getting easier (knock on wood). I am actually able to sit at the park and watch the kids play or read a book in the backyard while they play in the sandbox or the kiddie pool.
I also had the luxury of having a babysitter come Thursday morning while I went to Pilates class. Ahhhhh. The kids did wonderful with her, too!
Now, I think I will finish reading my book while there is silence in the house. The kids are fast asleep...

Library

Kids played "puppet show" while waiting for Ryan
to go to story time.
