Benihana fun!

We took the kids to a Japanese steak house this Saturday.
They were amazed that the chef could cook on our table!

Back to Winter

Can you believe just a couple days ago the kids were playing in the kiddie pool and it was 80 degrees? It was so cold today that a few snowflakes actually circulated through the air. Hoping summer finds its way back to Michigan again!

Summer in April!

We had beautiful 80 degree weather yesterday. The kids begged to get the kiddie pool out and had such a wonderful time!
Anya came in for drink and fell asleep on the couch she was so tired out from all the fun in the sun.

Neighbors

Since the warm spring weather has hit everyone has been outside. We have wonderful neighbors behind us that have a 6 year old boy and 3 year old boy. Ryan and Anya play all day with them. We also have a little girl who is 8 on the left of us that came out to play with the kids today. We have met a couple other little boys who are Ryan's age that he will be going to school with. It is so nice to see kids springing to life in our new neighborhood. The kids are just loving it! We just have to find some girls Anya's age. Although, she seems to enjoy tagging along all the boys.

Well Visits

Anya had her 3 year well visit with Dr. Butry 2 weeks ago. Everything went great! She weighs 32 1/2 # (70th percentile) and is 40 1/2" (75th percentile). She got 2 shots and shed a couple tears but nothing too dramatic. She had a wonderful time answering all Dr. Butry's questions. It is quite remarkable to see how much she has grown in the past year. Last year she would have been to shy to talk to anyone. Now she talks to just about everyone she encounters.

Ryan had his well visit just this morning. He was very interested where the nurse took his blood so, he enjoyed a visit to there lab and watched how they processed his blood. Ryan weighed 43# (50th percentile) and was 43 1/2 " (60th percentile). Ryan got 4 shots and was so brave with only a few alligator tears rolling down his little face.

Dentist Day!

Kids did great at the dentist. : ) Dr. Smith told me that Ryan's front bottom teeth are getting loose and may fall out in the near future. Not sure I am ready for my first born baby to lose his baby teeth. Before I know it he will be asking for the keys to the car.

Allergist Appt

Ryan's GI Specialist recommended we see an allergist after finding lymphocytic cells. The lymphocytic cells are normally an inflammation due to an allergy. So, we went to see Dr. Harrison. They did a series of tests on his back and tested for milk proteins, wheat, eggs, legumes, and about 20 additional common allergies I can't recall. We waited 20 minutes and the results were all negative as I suspected would happen. We saw an allergist when he was 2 and found nothing. Dr. Harrison decided he wanted to try another type of test on Ryan called an inter dermal test. This procedure is done by injecting a small amount of whatever is being tested just under the skin. It is a more sensitive test but also has a high level of false positives. Ryan had to endure 9 of these shots on his left arm. He was so brave through it all. Again, we waited 20 minutes. This time the test showed a very small reaction to the milk proteins. The question then is...is this a true answer or a false positive. So, we are to try and eliminate milk from his diet and see if that corrects his reflux. The Dr. said he has seen cases where an allergy causes reflux. Maybe this is the answer for Ryan...

Mani-Pedi

Anya asked me to paint her fingers and toes and I told
her to wait and I would do it later. Apparently, she didn't
want to wait and painted them (with markers) all on her
own. : )
